The IELC AFL-CIO Stands on these Principles!

It’s about electing champions for working families. Creating Good jobs-affordable housing-retirement security-and healthcare for all- are all political decisions. It’s not about Ds and Rs—it’s about candidates who will stand on the side of working families and have the ability to force the issues to get things done. It’s about understanding the struggles that families go thru each day trying to put food on the table—pay the rent—pay for their meds—and hopefully have a few dollars left over at the end of the month. It’s the struggle for them and their children as they try to determine how to pay for college. It’s about the lack of good jobs awaiting our children after their education or apprenticeship program. It’s about the imbalance of economics that has obliterated the middle class.
At the end of the day, it’s about the 40 year assault on workers and their Unions that has led to the destruction of the once cherished “American Dream.” Those were political decisions!!
