Our communications seek to bring awareness to the Labor Movement in the IE and to provide resources/education to empower working people in our region.
Requirements and Expectations
- Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)
- Bachelors degree in Communications (or equivalent), encouraged but not required
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft WebBakery, and graphic design software, such as Adobe or Canva
- Ability to work collaboratively with team-members, affiliated orgs, org allies and board members to maintain engaging and relevant content on all organizational social platforms such as; Website, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
- Ability to draft Press Releases, op-editorials, and E-Newsletters and build working relationships with local print, online, news and radio media outlets
- Ability to develop public relations and board marketing plans
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the organization (e.g. occasionally evenings and weekends)
- Ability to draft talking points and prepare spokespeople
- Strong understanding and commitment to social, racial, gender equality and economic justice
- Strong Understanding of the needs of working families
