Our communications seek to bring awareness to the Labor Movement in the IE and to provide resources/education to empower working people in our region.

 

Requirements and Expectations 

  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking)
  • Bachelors degree in Communications (or equivalent), encouraged but not required
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft WebBakery, and graphic design software, such as Adobe or Canva
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team-members, affiliated orgs, org allies and board members to maintain engaging and relevant content on all organizational social platforms such as; Website, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Ability to draft Press Releases, op-editorials, and E-Newsletters and build working relationships with local print, online, news and radio media outlets
  • Ability to develop public relations and board marketing plans
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the organization (e.g. occasionally evenings and weekends)
  • Ability to draft talking points and prepare spokespeople
  • Strong understanding and commitment to social, racial, gender equality and economic justice
  • Strong Understanding of the needs of working families
